Artiste : JULIA ROGOSIN*
Julia Rogosin (*2000) was born in Omsk and is currently studying painting at the Weißensee School of Art Berlin.
She works with painting, drawing, textile and installation works.
In her work, Julia Rogosin exposes the social external determination inherent in the designation "woman" as something that is always relentlessly imposed from the outside. For Julia Rogosin, the possibility of emancipation lies in the rejection of this violent determination and the resulting freedom to define oneself. Thus, violence becomes an important motif in Julia Rogosin's work, its complexity becoming thematic; on a physical or sexual level as well as in its more subtle forms of denial of opportunity or objectification. In her paintings, Julia Rogosin exposes the feelings that these experiences evoke: Powerlessness, anger, fragility, but also the strength to withstand and stand by oneself, to emancipate oneself from the gaze of the viewer.
