Artiste : AVIVA SAWICKI *
In 1996 Aviva started working on recycled paper, introducing flower petals, colored ribbons, metallic and plastic pieces of paper and cloth in the pulp. These elements which are part of our daily life were used by the artist as color and texture.
Her work has a quality, texture and sense of contrast between the old and the new through the combination of paper, sepia in her prints and bright colors in her paintings. Her style lends itself to her themes of married life as a fragile setting between two individuals and the imperative need to celebrate cultural diversity in the face of overwhelming imperial globalization.
In recent years, she has been working on a series entitled "Human Texture".
Aviva Sawicki has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Chile, Israel and New York. Her work has also been appreciated in Germany and Argentina.
