Artiste : RICO GRIPOIL *

Rico Gripoil has been an artistic director for half a century and has been working for about ten years in scenography and experiments with physical and digital arts. At the same time, he is in charge of the communication of the association Bicycle, which helps the parents of cyclothymic children.

However, his greatest passion is illustration. Entirely devoted to the style of comix, which he conscientiously reflects on and creates in classic formats. He also works in a more "thrown" and instinctive manner that lends itself to innovative ways of hanging his work. From hanging craft paper bags to a tent lit with LED wires, these installations allow him to combine his work as a scenographer with that of an illustrator. His inspirations include Philippe Druillet, Joel Abad, Jim Mahfood and Edika. His work treats of different themes such as current events, ancient Japan, contemporary art and street art. Mainly in black ink with often a touch of blood red, his universe is dark, provocative and offbeat.
