Artiste : MICHELE HICKEY GEMIN *

Michele Hickey Gemin was born in New York, where she spent her youth. She fell in love with Italy and decided to set up her studio in Venice. She works in stoneware, mainly in a clay that, when fired, leaves small spots on the finished surface. She likes to bring a little rusticity to her rather precise shapes. All of her creations start on the wheel and are then shaped by hand to create the final form, which makes her creations truly unique. 

Against the backdrop of the New York noise, Michèle chooses to create pieces that bring serenity and satisfaction. The forms are both minimalist and sculptural. 

She draws her inspiration from her many travels and the cities where she lives successively. 

Krakow, where she lived for a year, was a city of immense inspiration. She was fascinated by Polish ceramics, collected them, and then decided to put some of the Polish soul into LAM Ceramica.
